Eastern Sun Morning Ritual Oil

A nourishing, gently stimulating yet energetically balanced blend of herbs, flowers, and resins infused into nourishing organic cold pressed moringa and pomegranate seed oils. 
Invigorate your morning routine by adding this face oil to any steps in your skin care routine or simply use alone. A tiny amount of blue tansy essential oil has been added to help calm yet keep the mind alert, cleanse and calm any skin irritation, and help skin to heal and combat stress.

The many benefits of the plants in this oil:

Calendula - beautiful yellow flower that embodies the sun with its golden yellow flowers and bright citrusy smell. Calendula is one of the most well known herbs to help with any type of skin irritation, bruising, scrapes, or just keeping skin healthy in general. This little flower is a personal favorite bringing joy to me as it grows abundantly throughout the year, even through the winter where I live. Calendula when applied topically to the skin is energetically cooling and astringent with powerful antioxidant and inflammation modulating properties, it helps to knit skin back together speeding up wound healing.

Nettles - a loud plant that embodies the planet Mars with its stinging  and sharp protruding leaves. Nettles have been known to mine minerals from the soil and bring them to its leaves, making them so nourishing. Traditionally the fresh leaves have been used to help reduce inflammation (called utrification) by whipping the skin with the stinging leaves causing a reaction that drives fresh blood flow to the area, removing stagnant fluids. When infused in oil and applied to the skin it is gently stimulating for circulation and warming.

Mullein flower - a sweet little day blooming flower that only opens for about 1 day then closes to go to seed. Blooming on second year mullein stocks this little flower can help sooth and moisturize skin. The mucilaginous properties of mullein help to sooth hot irritated skin and pull in moisture but at the same time it helps to tone and knit the skin back together. What a beautiful skin ally!

Frankincense resin - collected from Boswellia tree family, I infuse the resin straight into the carrier oil to obtain the boswellic acids. These boswellic acids may help with skin elasticity, inflammation, and sooth respiratory and muscle issues. The acids are NOT present in the essential oils so it is much more beneficial to have the infusion. I find this oil to be gently warming and stimulating and uplifting to the mind. Use as a ritual or simply enjoy the numerous benefits this wonderful plant ally has to offer.

Lemon Balm - a beautiful all around gentle yet powerful plant ally that is loved by children and adults. Lemon balm loves the cooler spring weather and sends out fresh stocks of large fragrant leaves before flowering in warmer summer months. This powerful plant has the ability to help sooth the body and mind. As an infused oil it contains polyphenols that may help to protect skin against environmental stress such as UV damage. It may help to reduce pain due to inflammation and sooth skin issues such as psoriasis and eczema. Truly a wonderful herb to have in the garden, kitchen, and skin care routine.

 I find that using this oil 2-3x a week is enough to enjoy all the benefits. If the oil feels too strong mix 1-2 drops with 2-3 drops of another favorite carrier oil. I used plain rose hip seed oil and it was great!

Pairs beautifully with a gentle face cleansing clay mask. Apply after cleaning clay from skin.

This face oil can be applied any time of day. Whenever you need to feel a bit more calm and grounded or relaxing before sleep.
