Whole plant infused oil based products

Hi! I’m Alanna, I have a great love for the land here in high desert Kumeyaay territory (the backcountry of San Diego). I grow, harvest, and process most of the plants that go into my herbal creations! Each plant is grown with care and respect with a regenerative land model.
I think it’s very important to know what exactly goes into the products that you use on your skin! I do everything myself so I know the love, energy, and nutrients that go into the care of the plants. I harvest and process the plant material so everything is very fresh to create the most potent infusions I can.
I rarely use essential oils in my products to make them a slightly more gentle choice for very sensitive skin. I would never put anything in my products that I wouldn’t put on my children!

Organic Cold Pressed Oils, Butters, and Tallow

All carrier or base oils I use for my infusions are food grade, organic, cold pressed, and unrefined. Meaning that the oils themselves have the highest amount of nutrients that have not been denatured by heat or chemical solvents. Each oil is matched with specific herbs and formulated to bring you balancing blends that may help to improve overall skin health.

Tallow used is always 100% grass fed and finished from USA raised cattle. Tallow is more easily absorbable as the fat is very similar to our own body fat. Tallow is a rich source of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and vitamins A,D,E, and K.

Butters used are organic and cold pressed. They are selected based on their traditional uses, therapeutic properties, and absorbability into the skin.

Pure beeswax is used in many creams to thicken and add to the moisture retention properties of the cream. Emulsifying wax NF is vegetable derived may help the skin to retain more moisture, and keeps lotions from separating.

Oil Sourcing

Creating Potent Formulas

Growing up in Hawai'i, I have always had a profound respect and awe for the land, ocean, and other than human life surrounding me. When I had the opportunity to learn about farming and growing food, I was very excited to learn more! This eventually led to my fascination and deep reverence for may medicinal plants that were both native and that I could help to grow in our unique climate. This interest led me to taking courses in clinical herbalism, where I dove deeply into true holistic healing. Learning through the School of Evolutionary Herbalism I became more confident in formulating blends and helping others to choose which plants would best suit their needs and help to balance constitutions rather than cover up a symptom. Holistic healing can be achieved through working with plants that my help guide us, digging into spiritual and emotional traumas, and taking the time to balance diet, exercise, and stress levels. The best way I have found to combat stress is simply being outside with the plants, soil, animal kin, and elements.

Once finished with this course of Vitalist Herbalism I wanted to apply this knowledge to making potent, healing, body products that can be used in everyday life or for specific purpose. I chose to enroll in a course to create healing herbal oils created by herbalist Kami McBride. I truly love her perspective and knowledge of the plants we choose to work with. Also learning how to craft the most potent herbal oils I could.

If you are interested in working with plants, knowing more about herbalism, or how to help balance the tissue states of the body through the use of herbs, I highly recommend both of these teachers: Saja Popham (School of Evolutionary Herbalism) and Kami McBride.
